About the Corps of Cadets
The purpose of the Corps is to develop well-educated leaders of character prepared to provide values-based leadership and service in the public and private sectors.
The Corps brings students from all walks of life into the ultimate Aggie experience. The military-inspired cadet program provides students a structured lifestyle where academic excellence is emphasized, balanced with a university life rich in extra-curricular and leadership opportunties available only to Corps members.
Two Paths
Through the Corps experience, cadets learn master management and organizational skills and build their leadership capability. Cadets can either get an Academic Certificate in Leadership Studies with their major or pursue a contract and join the military as a 2nd Lieutenant
Cadets are encouraged to get involved in campus activities, from Traditions Council to Student Government to Fish Camp. It’s common for Corps members to hold highly respected positions on campus such as Student Body President and Yell Leader, and to take leading roles in dozens of other A&M student organizations
